Dear Beau: I feel horrible that I had to wake you up that early this morning, but as always, you came to my rescue. For that I am thankful. And the fact that I didn’t barf in bed. Dear Anesthesia: You barely worked a week ago and now I get complications/side effects?! What’s up with that? Dear JCrew: I am surely swooning over your colorful summer shorts, stripes and neons but please, stop sending me sale emails each and every day. I’m broke and cannot splurge on myself (this month). Dear TRG: You are working so very hard and I am so very proud. Three two one liftoff!
A few evenings ago I posted on Facebook that I needed a little help for a bio blurb… well, thank you to all who participated! Silly news is, I haven’t met probably one-third of you. Good news is, you seemed all pretty spot on (especially Mary and her Chinese food comments, sure did make me laugh out loud!). Bad news is, I’m actually no longer participating.
And what may you ask requires my participation?
The River Street Riot of course! Looking for a rockin’ good time this Saturday night? Look no further, here are the deeeeets:
- This Saturday, April 21st at 6pm
- Live music by The Tichy Boys
- Swing Dance Lessons + Contest
- Pinup girls + Rockabilly Guys | Vintage Fashion Show with Date Auction
- Eats by Dinosaur BBQ | Sweets | Cash Bar
- Silent Auction
More Throwback fun!
All proceeds benefit The Arts Center, a fine Troy business right in the heart of downtown. Not only do they have ever-changing exhibits, but they also provide learning space for children and, of all ages. I’m a huge fan of the photoshop and graphic design classes that are taught there in the evenings throughout the year AND currently we are working on an episode of Our Town with PBS. And by we I mean the residents. Troy is that good.
The only reason I’ve decided not to participate in the fashion show and date auction is because I am spreading myself too thin. I need to really start focusing on building my health and strength back up for this marathon and staying connected with those who mean the most to me. But not to worry, there are plenty of other babes that you can bid on (and dudes for that matter), so grab your dancing shoes and show up! Who can forget, Sticky Fingers will also be there with dessert and Ben from Design it Together will be DJing.
Tickets are only $15, $20 the night of the dance. For questions, please call Lauren at 273-0552 x229.
Rock on!
