This morning I got up bright and early to head up to Saratoga/ home so that I could go to the Farmer’s Market with my momma. I typically walk to the one here in Troy, but because I had plans this afternoon in the area, I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone. And spend time with my momma at the same time. It was packed! A ton of people out on such a beautiful morning and a bunch new vendors since the last time I was up there. I ran into some familiar faces, including the kiddos! Ava is almost as tall as me; I can remember celebrating her 2nd birthday with her– time sure is flying! I made a date with the kids and will be able to catch up with them this Wednesday evening, and make a few extra bucks while I’m at it. I do miss them dearly. But do enjoy my peace && quiet.
After picking up a couple dozen farm fresh eggs, local honey and my favorite, KALE! I headed to the beverage center to deposit cans! We had picked some up while walking around Saratoga, and boy (and girl) did I get some looks. There were a few sitting out from the busy Friday night before, but some were in bushes. I seriously am considering buying one of those grabber-things that older people tend to use when they can’t bend over. That way when I’m driving I don’t have to get out- which is tricky when I’m alone and constantly have to stop on the side of the road. Total can count: 288.
I spent the afternoon at Cate’s house doing henna for her cousin Sarah; it was her bridal shower. It was a small party- I got to do bigger designs on those who wanted it because I didn’t have to rush. They all seemed thrilled with the outcome and asked me to do it the night before the wedding on the bride’s feet- of course I can! Made me a few extra bucks while enjoying new company and catching up with a good friend. Here are a few pictures taken of the work:
Cate has an interview on Tuesday so couldn’t get it on her hands/arms.
We got a little carried away.
So, I scratched my plans with Joe for the evening, and here I sit with Roscoe to read and enjoy my alone time. I’ve done enough driving for the day but will head back up to Saratoga first thing in the morning to run with Marla. Yes, Marla! She was my personal trainer for a few years and the two of us became good friends. With my move to Troy and her new journey as a college student, we haven’t seen each other in months. Nor have I been running. She will kick my butt- hopefully I’ll get more than two miles in. Seriously no making fun, I haven’t ran in a long time. We have so much to share with each other, I’m sure the miles will fly by. It’s almost like a therapy session, she knows almost everything about my life. Oh, and week two weigh-in update, down another two pounds. For a grand total of six pounds in two weeks. Only one more strict week to go and I’m going to start adding in physical activity.
Ya’ll have a great rest of the weekend, enjoy the downtime. And family. And friends. And good books. And healthy food.
