It’s off to work I go! I believe I mentioned in one of my previous postings that I was transferred over to the Troy location, my alumn school, Russell Sage for Women. When I was hired almost a year ago, I mentioned that I preferred this campus just because I was familiar with the campus, programs and faculty members. But there wasn’t a position open. Good things come to those who wait and a position finally opened up after months of patiently waiting. I’ve been here for about three weeks now.
And I love the commute. It’s only five minutes- six if it’s a little snowy. I get to wake up later and not have to worry about traffic or slippery roads; my spirits have truly been lifted. Let’s take a little trip to work, shall we?
I love it. I walk home on my lunch and get to enjoy a fresh meal. Roscoe has been thrown off of his schedule of napping but I’m pretty sure he likes this disturbment. I think this week while I have off from work (yes, two full weeks, paid!) I’m going to walk downtown and take some photographs of the beautiful lights. I love running at night when they’re all on and glowing up my way.
As mentioned before, I made my tree stand this year for my Charlie-Brown Christmas tree. It was my mom and dad’s idea to use a bucket. Since the tree really isn’t that big, we decided a metal can would be suffice. I used one very similar to this one, one that my mom uses to melt down wax.
I then took it into my old bedroom at my parent’s house aka the Christmas wrapping center and wrapped the can in my favorite wrapping paper. This year it was a gold, thick paper with gold sparkles. Perfect. To make the tree stand within the can I went out to our stone wall, and filled the can. We tested it out in the garage- perfect! I added water to the mix once it was standing firm- I had to move around the stones to ensure it wouldn’t tip when Roscoe nibbled off a bite.
I have a bunch of other misc. photographs to share from the previous month or so. My apologies for the late posting but enjoy!
And now for a baby shower gift that I put together. I crotcheted the baby hat and found the book at the Used Book Barn. Seventy-five cents. Bingo!
These were the directions for the kiddos inside their advent calendar box when they returned home from Aruba.
And lastly, I leave you with a photograph of Roscoe. I bought him this bed on sale a couple of weeks ago. At first I didn’t think he would use it, now, he never gets up! He barely fits in it. But shhh! Don’t tell him that. It was his early Christmas present from me.
