Well, this was an unexpected kind of weekend. I had almost forgotten how much fun it is to go out with friends to the local bars. Friday night was a late one- but another blast. Before I knew it, I was in the bathroom with my waitress from Brown’s (from the previous evening) getting what I think was some sort of psychic reading? It was weird but strangely dead on and I left thinking about a lot of things that were said. Saturday morning brought a super breakfast at Manory’s with an old acquaintance- I haven’t had a breakfast sandwich from there in almost a year. But it was much needed and I am greatly reminded as to why I need to workout regularly- beer and breakfast sandwiches could be the death of me. Or the death of a somewhat decent figure. Ha!
Saturday evening I was working in the Saratoga area and stayed the night in Amsterdam. Let’s just say, big mistake. The rain turned to snow and we got about a foot up there! And I was snowed in with the Fit. I did try to make some fun of the situation and decided that around midnight we should build the biggest snowman. And that we did. It took about an hour and a half, a twelve pack and two of us to push the first two balls around, but it was done. I think it took us even longer to get the second ball into place- about fifteen tries and two layers stripped- snowman building is hard work!
We used a pipe for his mouth, a pair of those glasses with the fake mustache for his eyes/nose, a giant foam cowboy hat from the farm’s odd collection of odds & ends, and the scarf I found in the mud room. At one point we were out digging in a shed for a pair of manikin arms but couldn’t find them in the blizzard. Don’t ask me why they would have them in the first place…
My first day of Spring break wasn’t very productive- I originally had plans to hit up the Woodbury Outlets, IKEA and have dinner with some lady friends at Hana- but thanks to the snow, it was a no-go. But maybe tomorrow after work I’ll make the trip- I can’t wait to have my new dresser and the extra storage.
To wrap it up and make it quick this evening, I’ll leave you with a few photographs that I took last weekend when I visited a pair of new friends- and their little guy Jack. I must say, I admire these two young parents; being a parent is pretty darn tricky and requires a lot of time and patience. I can’t wait to got back and spend some time with them all again and maybe sneak in some nakey shots (they are my favorite).
Brrr! Time to snuggle in the with Birthday boy (aka Roscoe Man!). Stay warm!
