With the warmer weather and the increased amount in my activity levels, goodbye treadmill-hello streets, I’ve decided that I’m going to toss the weight watchers plan. Let’s be realistic– I haven’t weighed- in in over two months and that to me is wasted money. $79.98 to be exact. And I don’t have that kind of money to be wasting.
Oh course, we all have that number in our heads that we would love to be at, but I don’t like it looming over my head each day. I want to be healthy but most importantly, healthy. If I want to go out with friends and enjoy a drink or two or grab a slice of my favorite pizza, I don’t want to regret it because of a weigh- in the following Thursday. I’ve seen a nutritionist, I’ve read textbooks and articles and am pretty logical; I know what to do and should enjoy myself and the food that I love to eat.
With that, I headed to the market and picked up some few ingredients for a couple great recipes this week. Of course, I got a whole bunch of kale to make my favorite snack– kale chips! Within ten minutes of being home, I had a batch in the oven.
The other night after work I jumped in my car and headed to IKEA! My new favorite place (if only it weren’t two hours away!). I’ve been in desperate need of storage in my apartment with the lack of closet space. I picked up this wonderful, but extremely large, eight drawer dresser. I’m in love. I don’t know how my poor undergarments made it all these years smooshed into one drawer. Now they each have their own individual space. Oh, the things that make me happy.
But with this giant new dresser comes the lack of space in my little charming apartment. And some much needed purging/ rearranging has been taking place to prepare myself for Spring. I can’t wait to finish cleaning but my problem is that I can’t start and not finish…
Had to take a break from cleaning to squeeze in some physical activity. It has been days and I couldn’t wait to lace up my sneakers. I opened up the back door so that Roscoe could enjoy the fresh, warmer air. He really wanted to go running with me.
Tonight I’m heading out to a bowling benefit and didn’t have much time for dinner. But I did whip up two great items that I’ll be able to take with me for the drive. Baked chickpeas and an egg-spinach-salsa tortilla muffin. Take a look:
Yum! Stay safe, healthy and happy!
