I have never purchased a lotto ticket, nor have I joined in a pool with the hopes of quitting my current job. But today, I did both. I handed over $1 for the office pool and then bought a ticket of my own. Just for fun.
Being the little researcher that I am, I first had to gather some information. My odds of winning $540,000,000? 1 in 176 million. Could I pick my own numbers? Yes. Is there a specific way to choose these numbers? Well, eHow has specific instructions but I didn’t follow them one bit. Quite a few people suggested having an even distribution of odd to even, because the chances of them all being one or the other is low. I didn’t follow that either; go big or go home, right? Do the numbers have to be in the exact order they were drawn? Nope.
I oh-so-confidently found myself at a local Stewart’s and bought me a ticket. And couldn’t helping thinking on the way home what I’d do with that much money. Here’s a very short list:
-
Donate half to multiple local charities/organizations and RSC. None of that Make-a-Wish crap.
-
Pay off my student loans. And my sister’s. And a close friend’s. I’m not naming names.
-
Pay off my little Honda Fit. And not trade her in.
-
Buy a home. Most likely in Troy. Fix her up and live happily ever after…
-
After investing the rest.
What would you do if you won?
So speaking of luck..I’ve never bought a lotto ticket before in my life, but I got pooped on by a bird on my walk to work this morning…which is supposed to be good luck right? So I went in on a ticket at work and paid for my own today. What would I do with the money? Pay off my loans, my brother’s loans, my parents’ mortage, their retirement ( after supporting my a$$ for 28 years its the least I can do), buy a place somewhere in my paradise…travel to find out where my paradise is..donate to RSC…and never worry about anything again as I live a normal life!
