You’ve already written about your experience during your marathon, but I thought I would add one more thing – from the point of view of your beau. My emotions that weekend can be summed up in 3 words: inspired, scared, and proud. Inspired because you had every reason to not run the race at all, and you just wouldnt take no for an answer – your hard work and determination through your training inspires me still to this day. Scared, when I received your phone call that you were stopping running, and were going to walk to the next medical tent. I could hear the tears in your voice, and I just wanted to instantly be by your side to make sure everything is okay. I was so proud at the end when you set aside your disapointment and decided to stay and cheer on your friend and every runner before her. I know you were genuinely happy for everyone who finished and would have stayed and clapped for the very last finisher.
Tuesday we leave on our great adventure to Tennessee. I am so excited to be taking our first road trip together, with a map, driving standard, and with no email. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
