Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I hadn’t planned on reading this book but when I went to the library last, they didn’t have any of my five favored books available. I promptly requested them however I couldn’t leave empty-handed. As I walked through the isles, I recognized the title and pulled it off of the shelf. Why not? I thought.
I started and finished this book in four days. I read it on my lunch breaks, before bed, and in between customers during my weekend shift at Dante’s. During the last fifteen minutes, I banned the beau from the bedroom in fear that he would distract me. He kindly obliged.
Without giving too much away, it is a story told from Rachel’s perspective, a thirty year old lawyer living in NYC. She’s got her typical hot friend who seems to have the best of luck, a summer share in the Hamptons, and plenty of opportunity for love. And she ends up finding it in the last place everyone expected. This would be a great vacation book and although I don’t see one in my near future, I’ve already picked up the sequel.
