For our one year date, I wanted to get the beau something little to show him some love for our relationship. And wouldn’t you guess, I looked back at my boards on Pinterest for something that I had seen months earlier. I present to you the you+me print.
I knew I could get the print done locally but didn’t know how in the world I’d get his fingerprint without acting suspicious. That was the trickiest part. Long story short, I lied about burning my finger on the panini press, swore my print was burnt off, took the conversation into an odd direction talking about being a criminal (who me? never!) and whipped out my favorite red ink from China. I think he fell for it… one will never know I suppose. I got his print at least.
I scanned in his prints along with mine to a good pal, Ben, over at Troy Cloth & Paper. This is where his magic came in handy. If you know how to use Photoshop, A+ to you. I, however, do not and left it all up to him. He blew it up, turned it blue, added the font and printed it off on the risograph. I had to come up with a plan on how to get the print without the beau knowing and put it in a frame, without him knowing. It sure is hard hiding something from someone you love to be around on the weekends. But I did it and I love how it came out. And I’m pretty sure the beau does too.
The print looks perfect hanging over our mantel… but it may make its way into the bedroom once we’ve painted. Who cares? It sure is cute and original.
Do you want one with your fingerprints? Easy peasy! Just call Ben and set it up! A wonderful, custom holiday gift, maybe?
